PERIODONTAL DNA SCREEN

TEST INCLUDES:

Periodontopathogenic Bacteria

Porphyromonas, endodontalis, Porphyromonas gingivalis, Aggregatibacter actinomycetemcomitans, Treponema denticola, Fusobacterium nucleatum, Prevotella intermedia, Tannerella forsythia

DESCRIPTION:

Periodontal diseases are a diverse group of infectious diseases of periodontal tissues with different specific pathogens, which are non-clostridial anaerobic bacteria. According to the WHO classification, they are grouped in the so-called Periodontopathogenic Bacteria (PB).

It is now established that this group of pathogens is a major cause of progressive periodontal disease. This leads to the need for specific methods of diagnosis and treatment of identified bacteria in chronic-progressive-resistant and aggressive periodontal disease. Purely mechanical treatment is generally ineffective, particularly when PB is present in oral cavity and in this case it should be used antibacterial therapy. A necessary condition for choosing the appropriate antimicrobial agent is the knowledge of the bacterial spectrum and the concentration of present microorganisms.

REQUIREMENT(S):

WEIGHT MANAGEMENT DNA

TEST INCLUDES:

FTO regulation of metabolism and satiety

FABP2 Ala54Thr (A54T) Polymorphism

PPARG Pro12Ala (P12A) Polymorphism

ADRB2

DESCRIPTION

The weight management DNA test panel helps to lose weight in an effective manner by guiding diet and exercise programs based on genetic differences in metabolism and fat absorption.

FTO obesity risk alleles reported increased food intake, especially of high-energy foods, as well as impaired satiety.

FABP2 Ala54Thr54 is associated with obesity, higher BMI and body fat and higher leptin levels (protein hormones that regulate energy intake, appetite and metabolism.

PPARG 2Pro/Pro form of the protein is more affected by the amount of fat in the diet and has a direct association between higher BMI and the amount of fat intake.

ADRB2 is associated with an increased risk of obesity, abdominal obesity and obesity when adhering to a high carbohydrate diet.

REQUIREMENT(S):

Test Name: Weight Management DNA

Test Code: WML001

Sample: Buccal Swab

Method: SNP Real-Time PCR

WEIGHT MANAGEMENT OBESITY DNA

TEST INCLUDES:

FTO

FABP2

DESCRIPTION

Obesity is a metabolic disorder defined as a condition of abnormal or excessive body fat accumulation in adipose tissue and is associated with a large number of debilitating and life-threatening disorders. Gene determines an individual’s susceptibility to obesity when exposed to an unfavorable environment as well as the way he/she can respond to diet and exercise.

The overweight and obese people are at a higher risk of developing one or more serious medical conditions, including hypertension, dyslipidemia, heart diseases and diabetes.

REQUIREMENT(S):

Test Name: Obesity DNA

Test Code: WMO001

Sample: Buccal Swab

Method: SNP Real-Time PCR
