Comprehensive UTI Diagnostics

Nurse preparing urine specimen for transport at nursing station

BDL offers two targeted Urinary Tract Infection (UTI) PCR tests — a standard UTI test for typical presentations and an expanded test for patients with high-risk sexual behavior that adds STI-associated organisms and protozoal screening. Both tests include full antibiotic resistance gene profiling with 11 resistance gene groups.

Every specimen is processed under BDL's NIGHTHAWK PROTOCOL™ and NIGHTHAWK VERIFY™ — temperature-monitored and tracked hourly by our 24-hour team with temperature verification on every shipment.

NIGHTHAWK
VERIFY™
Specimen Temperature Monitoring
NIGHTHAWK VERIFY™

The temperature of every specimen tracked from your facility to our lab. We know if it ever reached 77°F. and for how long.

Every specimen shipped to our lab includes a proprietary high technology sensor, the device behind NIGHTHAWK VERIFY™. This compact sensor is placed inside every specimen container and monitors temperature throughout transport. If the sample ever reaches 77°F, the sensor records the cumulative duration of all breaches, giving our laboratory team measurable, visual proof of exactly how long specimen integrity was compromised.

When the specimen arrives at our lab, we know before testing begins. No guesswork. No assumptions.

Why BDL for UTI Diagnostics

Results the Same Day We Receive the Specimen

Pathogen-specific results from receipt of the sample — enabling targeted antibiotic therapy before empiric treatment runs its course.

🔎
11 Resistance Gene Groups

Comprehensive resistance profiling including ESBL, carbapenemase, MRSA, and vancomycin resistance markers — critical for UTIs with rising antimicrobial resistance.

🎯
Standard + High-Risk Tests

Two distinct tests allow physicians to match the diagnostic scope to the clinical presentation — standard UTI pathogens or expanded coverage including STI-associated organisms.

🌡
Temperature-Monitored Specimens

This compact sensor is placed inside every specimen container and monitors temperature throughout transport. If the sample ever reaches 77°F, the sensor records the cumulative duration of all breaches, giving our laboratory team measurable, visual proof of exactly how long specimen integrity was compromised.
